Kerstin Maxwell Art’s Reveals Quiet Summer Eve, Summer Reading & Birdhouse

This Artis, Kerstin Maxwell, is running short of time (how typical!) and will bless you with three-in-one! 🙂

First I want to introduce you to Quiet Summer Eve. This painting translates the image of “Kvarnen” (the Mill) at Turbinhusön in Tidaholm, and “Kaffe Stugan” (the Coffe Cottage Cafeteria). Located at the river of Tidan in the centre of town, it provides a beautiful setting for a get together over a drink. This is also a favourite place of mine, as is any place along this river-park.

Summer Reading: – Here you see a young girl (my daughter!) absorbed by a story, while sitting on a swing one lovely summer’s eve. Behind her, a hint of meadow – also a common, lovely sight in this area.

It was my brother-in-law who pointed out the photo opportunity to me back then, resulting in the image I have always loved and desired to translate onto the canvas. Finally I made the attempt, and I am sure glad I did. (I only wish I had made it bigger!)

Lastly, I have the Birdhouse. This came from a photo I took while visiting one of the many islands outside Gothenburg that is only accessible by boat. It reflects the classical Swedish architecture/colouring, which I love, and gives attention to the bird life I consider a blessing.

How do you log your favourite memories/blessings?
