Kerstin Maxwell Art’s fourth Reveal August 2024; Stone Wall Baltak

My fourth reveal this month is named Stone Wall Baltak. The concecption of this painting took place while enjoying a walk in the hamlet of Baltak at the outskirts of Tidaholm, my childhood town in Sweden.

Stone walls are very common place in Sweden. Many a farmer would consider the land “cursed” by all these rocks, forever emerging in the land desired for crop cultivation. The stones became useful as fences and boundaries, ading to the charm of the landscape, especially as moss starts growing over them…

I love rocks and stones, in all sizes, shapes and colours. You are likely to see more of them in my future paintings! I have dragged home more rocks than I know what to do with…yet! – But I DO have the beginnings of my own stone wall(s)  🙂

What beauties do you enjoy in your own back yard?
