Simple Beauty is the name of this 8.3″ x 11.6″ OIL painting, inspired by the photo I took at my sister’s place Gransiken in Sweden many years ago. I have always been drawn to the image and decided to translate it into a painting. Maybe it was the light and the colours?
Kerstin Maxwell’s Art Reveal is about starting a new tradition for Kerstin Maxwell Art. The idea is this; This month I will make public my creations since April ( As it happens it will be My Sweden Collection so far). In December I will reveal my paintings dating back to August, and in April 2025 I will reveal what I have painted since December’24.

So three times a year I will publicize new art.
I envision a relatively wide frame on this one, a stained wood frame would do nicely!
It will be set up on display, along with six other paintings, in the display window of Tidaholm’s Ramverkstad at Gamla Torget ( The Town Square) from August 17 – 28 and I will be there for part of the day or at least within easy reach, for in person visits. Please e-mail, phone, or text me! I will have a Swedish phone number along with my Canadian.
This summer has been about showing up in Sweden with my art, which I look forward to very much! Moving forward though, I would like to do more Plein Air during these precious summer months and use my photos as a reference in the winter.
Simple Beauty doesn’t have much of a story, maybe that can be part of its simplicity! Unpretentious and pure, -reflecting light.
