Kerstin’s Second August Reveal: Summer Sails

This is Kerstin Maxwell Art’s second reveal this August; Summer Sails. This piece is also part of My Sweden collection.  An oil painting that takes me to the Swedish coast.

Some of my most memorable times has been while padling, sailing or travelling across everything from glass clear, still waters to rough sea. My emotions have ranged from absolute wonder to a state of fright.

Maybe you can immagine this; Getting up while the sun has yet to appear on the horizon, but you can see the light. You get into the canoe and glide out on the still and quiet ocean. Your cause the first ripple in this immence body of water. The sky has its twin refleced in the coastline and is puctuated by rockformations/ small islands. The seaguls are your only companions and your breath fresh morning air while a slight brease runs across your face…and its heaven, and you stop padling, – just taking it all in.

Another unforgettable time was while sitting in our below deck cabin while crossing over the Nordic Sea and English Channel from Sweden to England while nursing my first born… Outside the ocean is raging and causes me to sea dark sky and the frightening below water view next. I did not get much sleep that night. My three month old baby girl kept me distracted while my husband was fearful for the three of us!

One of my dreams is to own a property (or two! :)) by a lake and another by the ocean, or at least to be able to enjoy such a stay!
